Dave Billing

VOCALS, HARMONICA

Diamond Dave masterfully showcases a deep understanding of harmonica styles, seamlessly blending expressive acoustic techniques with a powerful amplified approach. His distinctive sound on the chromatic harmonica, marked by rich tone and inventive ideas, has made him one of Australia's most recognizable players. Throughout the late 1980s and 90s, he performed with his band, The Mighty Mudcats, before the group rebranded in 2000, welcoming new members, including Dave Brewer, who had recently returned to Perth.

Dave Brewer

VOCALS, GUITAR

Dave Brewer began with the Elks in the late 1970s, touring the east coast before the band disbanded in 1982. He then formed a lasting musical partnership with "Continental" Robert Susz, playing in The Dynamic Hypnotics and later joining the Mighty Reapers. The Reapers released five albums on Rufus Records and opened for blues legends like BB King, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Recently, Brewer released Life of Riley, featuring top Australian musicians, including Lucky Oceans.

John Wilson

BASS

John has been a professional bass player for decades, known for his versatility across multiple styles. He frequently plays in an African band and is in high demand among blues-rock groups, often performing at the Perth Blues Club. He toured internationally with renowned slide guitarist Dave Hole, an Alligator Records artist, and had a long partnership with respected bluesman Ivan Zar. Passionate about the blues, John brings deep experience and energy, teaming up with Chob to create hard-driving beats.

Yugon Chobanoff

DRUMS

Chob began drumming in his early teens, starting with rock and pop before finding his passion in Chicago blues, inspired by Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. In the early ’90s, he played with Nacho Mamas Blues Band before a long run with jump blues group The Vibrolators, both of which released CDs and performed at major blues festivals. In 2008, he joined Lynwood Slim’s backing band for an Australian tour, further cementing his blues credentials.
